I stumbled upon a movie the other night that rocked me. It’s called “Once.” It is an indie film out of Ireland that cost about $160,000 to make and uses non-actors in the lead roles. But don’t let that fool you. “Once” is absolutely, the most inspirational story I’ve come across in awhile. After watching it, I wanted write, record, and perform a song all at the same time. And I think it will do the same thing for you…especially if you are someone chasing a dream.

The story is simple. A struggling singer/songwriter finds motivation in a girl that shares his passion. But just like life, things aren’t always as simple as they seem. The movie is a musical, but not in the normal sense. I describe it like this… In a typical musical, the music drives the plot. In “Once,” the plot drives the music.

If you feel like you are in a rut…watch this film. If you have been procrastinating on something…watch this film. And if you are a singer/songwriter…DEFINITELY WATCH THIS FILM.
