Hey everyone.
I finished the book! There is such a sad tone throughout. I felt like, even when the characters were happy, they were still sad. Does that make sense?
I will say this… I have a new respect for Stephenie Meyer as an author. Amazing writer. I have only seen “Twilight” the movie, and I honestly got a very different vibe from the characters (and the story, in general) in the book as oppose to what I saw in the movie. Interesting.
Anyway, on to Episode 2…

Hi, I just voted. I went back (again) and listened to the music (or lack there of) on the New Moon preview. I voted that it “didn’t do anything for me”. I paid attention to the music about the fifth time I watched the preview and was sorely disappointed. I am hoping because it is early on, they are working on it, as you are as well.
Music always draws my attention to a preview, it sets the tone. There was some in the scene where Edward leaves Bella and it was ok, but there was not any music in the exciting scenes that I could tell. Nothing to build the excitement and get your adrenaline pumping.
As far as most emotional scene goes, well, I absolutely have to say it is when Edward leaves Bella. That is such a gut-wrenching scene it makes me nauseous to even remember it. I am only one voice however, can’t wait to see what you decide and the rest of the comments say.

ok let me explain my votes the first one im really in between two questions because i can really understand bella pain that she is feels when edward leaves,and it would make a really good sad song. but when they kiss and bella says that (if i was going to rip myself up further,i might as well get as much in trade as possible)pg.512 that tells me that she is willing to take the pain no matter bad, if it was just for just one last kiss. that right there tells me how much that she really loves he.
now the second vote i just watched the trailer it was cool but the music was like you said really didt do anything for me i think they need some help. thanks and i hope i helped you out some how.see ya

Hi…I’ll just pour it all out…I’m a great fan of the Twilight Saga..obviously…and I think that what you’re doing is very cool…it’s important to involve the fans in the creative process and you’re actually giving people the opportunity to express themselves and make their opinion count…it seems like a great idea and I’m sure you’ve got everyone’s support on this…so keep trying and I really hope you make…I’d love to see your name on the New Moon soundtrack…

Hi Josh….
I fell in love with your song ‘Happy’ when I heard it on Y&R. Originally I thought what a perfect song for the TWILIGHT SERIES regarding Edward & Bella’s happy times. So when I came to your website & saw that you were already working on something for it……well it was a nice surprise.
Ok, coincidence being set aside…… I have no doubt that whatever you come up with will be great. The heart wrenching scene when Bella is left by Edward is a very deep dark moment, lots and lots of pain. It took me back to a place a long time ago when I had a huge hole left in my heart & let me tell you, I needed a day or 2 to recover and I’m sure it hit a lot of others out there too. Writing a song for this would be one option. But I have a strong feeling though that when you get deep into these characters you will find in your gut more than one song, and that can be a great thing. You have a gift of expressing what others feel.
I don’t know if you went to StephanieMeyers.com, but she listed her early thoughts of what music would work. Maybe that can help you too.
You said you saw the movie, Twilight, but did you read the book? It’s easy reading & will help you more then the movie.
So come on Josh, rip our hearts with a sad song or lift us up with beautiful love songs.

About the music it gave me the chills when Bella lay in the forest and I like the heartbeat drum. I think that it is actually very good and fits the mood of the movie/book.
I chose “When Edward leaves Bella” I cried my eyes out at that part of the book.
Josh I hope that you will succed and I belive that you will do wonderfull things also in the future not only for “New Moon”

I found I was most gripped by the pain when Edward left Bella… Most of the time when I read books once it gets sad i cant bring my self to finish reading a book. However knowing that they were together in the rest of the saga i pushed on.
I my self felt pain reading that it just tugged at the heart strings b/c who hasnt been left by someone they loved and felt that, but to envision to be left alone hopelessly chasing the one you love sighs … I hate Edward for a few days it was like how could he do that to Bella. I jcried when i read it.
That bein said have to admit when she was pushing on him and he didn’t seem to notice she was real. All the tension and her fight ending in comic joy of there reunion was wonderful Its like. She was fighting so hard and here he thought he was dead and this was heaven. I dont know if any of that is even helpful lol but those are my thoughts
Though if you were to do something intense and then playful with the melody just play with the vrs. and bridge and chorus to mimic that tension meets bliss it could be interesting

I voted for ”when edward leaves Bella in the forest” because I think these are the most important pages in the book..i mean not the most important pages but it’s like a turning point and bella is now without edward..and i think your song should be about this..there a so many feelings and i really cried when i read this…
i don’t know how to espress all these things but i hope you know what i mean because you’ve read the book, too
and i voted for ”It didn’t really do anything for me” because i think it’s nothing really special and there should be more feelings in the songs especially when edward leaves bella and there should be more action when jasper attacks bella..but thats only my opinion..
i’m really convinced that your songs is going to be really really great
and of course thank you for your great first album…you are a great musician !
