Hello all!
SOOOOOOO… the video of Episode 6 below contains a “first listen” of the song we are writing for New Moon. It’s called “Vanish.” But, before you press play, I wanted to set it up a bit.
First, I’m writing the song with two amazing songwriters who I’ve worked with many times before, Jason Collum and Nathan Walters. As we were trying to decide our direction with the song, we were really inspired to look at it from Edward’s point of view. Really get into his head leading up to, and during, this process of forcing himself to separate from Bella. In doing that, we found that his situation isn’t all that uncommon, and one we all had been through at some point. Which was interesting.
This is a difficult song. Not necessarily to write or perform (although it’s not exactly easy to perform), but “difficult” in a sense that it is the “anti-love” love song, in a way. Even, if the words aren’t the truth. They are still going to hurt. It is written from a dark emotional place.
Secondly, the performance on the video is the first time we played the song all the way through in its entirety. I did this because I want you guys to see how the song develops from you what you hear now, to what it will eventually become. It’s going to be very cool.
Also, sorry for the shakiness and weird “neck” shots. It is apparently very tough to shoot and sing a song for the first time simultaneously.

I.. can’t believe this. I’m crying… The song is really beautiful! It is AMAZING! It fits Edwards sight of the leaving so good. God, I wish I could say that I’m proud of you guys for putting this amazing and fantastic song together, but proud wouldn’t be the right word.
I’ve been checking the site everyday for the update and got impatient.. but this was worth the waiting. Applaus to you guys.. Im gonna go hit replay again, just wanted to give some feedback. Great job! Really . AMAZING job!

I have read New Moon more then once and it is the part where Edward leaves Bella that continues to bring tears to my eyes… In my opinion the lyrics do a good job of showing the emotion. I also love how you chose to do it from Edwards point of view and when you say vanish… wow… that word seems to capture what Edward is actually feeling. I love it….
The beginning of your song is beautiful… i think it goes like this…
“Say the words, like you believe them”
“Hide the hurt, like you don’t feel it”
“Your strong enough to let her go”
“This is goodbye just say so”
I mean….that couldn’t be any more perfect… You did a great job of capturing what Edward might have actually been saying in his head during the break up scene. Even though it hurt so bad to say the words, he knew it had to be done. So he needed to push himself, convince himself he could do it because he thought it was whats best for the person he loves more then anything…
PERFECT!
As a huge twilight fan… i can say you guys did an outstanding job and wrote a song that really fits that moment in the book. Wow… that is some serious talent you have there and now that i have fallen in love with your song i am hoping it is in the movie! Good luck!

Hey, the song is pretty good and chill and all, but, um, isn’t it a little late? like don’t they have the soundtrack planned out already and stuff? Muse and Radiohead are already confirmed to be on the soundtrack and everything.
