As the college football season approaches (kicked off by my alma mater, University of Southern MIssissippi, by the way), be listening for my song, “For The Love of The Game.” I just found out from ESPN they are going to be using the track in the broadcast of all SEC and Big East football games. Pretty cool!
Tonight is the season finale of The Hills. The show has been really good to me over the years. And while I don’t have a song featured in the finale itself (Booo!), I’m super lucky to have three songs featured in the retrospective recap show called “From the Beginning” that airs right before the finale (Yea!). The songs are “Happy,” “Starting to Rain,” and “Wrong Side of Yesterday.” So, listen up!
My song, “For the Love of the Game,” will be heavily featured throughout this year’s College World Series on ESPN. Keep an ear out for it! It’s a rocker.
My song, “Step Outside,” is being used in the promo for the season finale of the massive show, One Tree Hill. Wow. It’s always been one of my goals to get on this show. I’m a fan. But, I could have never imagined being a part of such an emotional sentiment in the story… saying goodbye.
Turns out, my lyric “goodbye” has quite a bit of significance in this situation. You see, there is a battle going on right now between the powers that be with the show, and the shows’ fans. The studio is deciding whether or not to continue the show. And the fans, of course, are campaigning for another season. But, as it stands now. No one knows. Which means the season finale, could in fact be a series finale. Now, you can see why the word “goodbye” is causing quite a stir in One Tree Hill world.
The message of my song, and the story blend beautifully. And, No matter how it ends up, it’s very surreal (and awesome) to play a part in a bit of TV history. Here’s the promo…

If you happened to watch Make It Or Break It this week (the Hope and Faith episode), you would have heard my song “For The Love of The Game” for two solid minutes during the big tryout for the National Team. It’s actually a previously un-released song, and has never been heard until this airing. Which is kinda cool.
If you missed it, you can watch HERE. The song begins at 35:30. The song also JUST went up on itunes. Enjoy!
You know all the programming they have before movies these days? Well, one of the things they do is feature emerging artist’s music. And for the month of February, I will be one of those “emerging artists,” and my song “Not Today” will be played on over 17,000 movie screens across this great country.
I’m pretty pumped about it. So, when you go to see a flick with your honey on Valentine’s Day, listen for me!
Most of you know of my song, Step Outside. But, most of you don’t know it was also recorded by my co-writer / artist / buddy Lee Hester. Well, his version was featured on the Jersey Shore episode called “Just Another Day at The Shore.” Cool!
If you’re interested how we interpreted the song differently (fun!), take a listen to his version…

A couple of months ago, I decided it was time to start a new project. But, I also decided that just writing, recording, and releasing an album wasn’t going to cut it this time. I wanted to offer an experience bigger than that. So, I asked myself the question… “What could an artist, that I was a fan of, do to really pump me up and get me excited?” The obvious answer for me was, let me help them make an album. I want to hear songs right after they’ve been written. I want daily updates from the studio. I want to decide whether a song should be on the album or not. I want to name the album itself. Well, that’s what we are going to do.
Today, I’m launching the first step in that journey. As most of know, It’s going to take a nice chunk of change for an independent artist like myself to make this happen. So, I’ve created some amazing pre-sale packages to get the ball rolling. These aren’t your typical pre-sale packages, I promise. For example, in one of them, I will write a song for you, fly you to Nashville, you’ll be there in the studio as I record your song, you’ll sing on that song (if you want), and then we’ll go grab dinner. How’s that for typical? And, just so you know, I don’t make a profit on these. All the money we raise with this goes to record, produce, mix, master, print, distribute, release, and promote this new album.
Here’s the most important thing… Included with EVERY package , is a username and password that unlocks a secret part of my site called “Secret Society.” This is where you will get daily updates from the studio, and I will get your feedback all through the journey.
This is going to be unbelievably cool, and I can’t wait to get started. But before we do, I need your help spreading the word. Because let’s be honest, it’s not going to be too fun when the members of The Secret Society are me, my mom, and two other people.
You’ll have to listen quick. It’s only a ten second instrumental that leads into a commercial. But, hey… it’s The Hills! Also, I’ve heard from a reliable source that the big wigs at the show really like the music. So, hopefully there will be some big features in the near future.
If you are watching NFL football today on CBS, you might have heard a familiar sound. My song, “No Such Thing,” was heavily featured in the promo ad for their new show, Three Rivers. I’ve heard it a few times today, and I must say, it’s pretty cool every time.
So, even though my fantasy football teams are getting their jocks handed to them (and I’m sure my Tennessee Titans will be close to follow tonight), it’s always a good day to hear your voice on national television.
Hey guys and gals! Over the next 7 days, two of my songs are going to be featured heavily on TV…
Tonight (Friday, September 11th) my song, “Step Outside,” (co-written with Lee Hester) will be on the Animal Planet show, Jockeys. I haven’t seen this show, but I’ve heard it’s pretty cool. The show airs at 9 Eastern.
Then, the big one… All next week, my song “Falling” (co-written with Jason Collum) will be featured on the 2nd highest rated daytime show on television, CBS’ Dr. Phil Show (You can guess who’s #1. I’ve give you a hint… it rhymes with “Roprah”). Next week is the premiere week for the show, and my song will be used in a recurring promo for the rest of the upcoming season. It’s a 2 minute promo, and “Falling” will be used for over half of that. Pretty cool.
Yep! My new site is finally live. And while there are still a few more features to unveiled, it’s still a big improvement. My goal was to have a site that was easy to navigate, offer innovative features, and provide a place where we can all hang out. I think that was accomplished.
Two buddies of mine helped make this all happen. John Parker and Jimmy Jernigan put in some serious time, and I can’t thank them enough. Check them out, and tell ‘em I sent ya!
