So, here is the first video from the much talked about “Acoustic Sessions.” And by “much talked about,” I mean much talked about… by me. The song performed is a cover of a killer new artist called, Lights. If you haven’t heard of this chick yet, you will soon. This song was featured on a ton of Old Navy commercials recently, and you might recognize it. It’s called “The Last Thing on Your Mind.”
Performing with me are two guys that have been with me from the start. Jason Collum (he’s playing the guitar) and Nathan Walters (he’s playing keys). Sidenote – We 3 wrote “Happy” and “Beautiful” together. We learned the song about 15 minutes before this take, so I apologize if it gets sloppy. Also, I don’t know what you guys think… but I happen to think the video looks and sounds great. Well, that’s all because of a guy named Jimmy Jernigan. He killed it.
Oh, by the way, I actually got a myspace message from Lights herself saying she loved the video. That was very, very cool. She definitely did not have to do that, and I really appreciated getting her stamp of approval. So, hopefully I get yours as well!
